5 Day Christmas Tour 2010
Enjoy 4 nights and 5 days of sheer bliss and relaxation. A great time to meet new friends, and relax with old ones, while being pampered at this special time of year.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1
After the usual pick ups from your home, we head South in our deluxe twin door touring coach. We climb up the Bombay hills with a morning tea stop there, before we make our decent to the Waikato and onwards to the Bay of Plenty. We travel through Ngatea with time for a look around the shops. Then travel on through Paeroa to Waihi for lunch. We will take a drive to the viewing area for the Martha Mine, before continuing on to Katikati with a visit to the amazing Bird Gardens (Booked for 1430) – 10 acres of gardens, walks, ponds, wetlands and birds to wander and enjoy. We then continue on the short journey in to Tauranga, where we are staying at the Armitage Hotel with time to relax before dinner. Here we will make our home for the next four nights.
Day 2
Christmas Day …Time to relax and forget all the hassles of the year as we work up an appetite to do justice to our traditional and extravagant Christmas lunch. An opportunity will be given, for all those who would like, to attend a church service in the morning (your driver will arrange this, at your request). Christmas lunch will be enjoyed at the hotel, the afternoon can then be spent digesting and relaxing, or you can join the coach on a short afternoon drive around Tauranga. We will then head back to the hotel and prepare to share in a light Christmas dinner this evening.
Day 3
Today after a leisurely start, we will take you on a trip to remember, you will enjoy some stunning coast line, as we head to Whakatane down the Pacific Coast Highway seeing places on the way such as Matata and Edgecombe. We will continue into Whakatane for lunch and some time in town. On our return back from Whakatane we will take a visit to Kiwi 360 (booked
for 1530), for a guided tour of the orchard and a look at their property and
shop, before heading back to Tauranga and the Armitage for the night.
Day 4
This morning, after another fully cooked breakfast, we will start off the day with a guided tour of the Tauranga port and see the daily operations of how this busy harbour works. We will then enjoy Tauranga and Mt Maunganui sightseeing. Taking a stroll along the stunning white sandy beach at the Mount, we will have some free time here to enjoy the cafes and shops. Bring
your togs if you want to take a dip in the sea or the local hot pools. We
continue on to Papamoa in the afternoon enjoying the sights of the Bay area. After this, we will head back to the hotel for our final evening together, enjoying another great meal.
Day 5
Unfortunately, today is our last day, It’s time to head for home. As we farewell Tauranga we travel over the Kaimai range to Matamata and visit the Firth Tower museum, an historic museum showcasing the early settlements of the Waikato and a model of the Kaimai tunnel. We will then have time for lunch in town, before heading through the mighty Waikato back to Auckland. We will have a short stop at the Bombay Hills where you can collect some fruit or any other necessary items before being returned home.
